Murcia is an autonomous region situated in the south-east of Spain on the Mediterranean. The region is bounded by the provinces of Alicante to the east; Albacete to the north and Granada and Almería to the west. Enjoying a pleasant and moderate climate all year round, with an average temperature of approximately 17C, Murcia has more than 3,000 hours of sun a year and warm Summers (25C), ideal for lovers of the sea and nautical sports.
Within its almost 12.000 square kilometres, the region of Murcia offers 250 kilometres of coastline divided between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea of which a large part is virgin and solitary ; orchards, rivers, mountains, grapevines, olive groves and arid high plateaus; miraculous thermal waters; a complete offering of sports and a rich artistic and historical heritage.
In addition to these features are the particular and delicous Murcian gastronomy combining fish, rice and seafood of the littoral, the fruit and vegetables of the "huerta", the meat and stews of the interior, and festivals full of colour, light, music and tradition.
